UKAEA is proud to sponsor the Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards 2021. Apprentices have always been a very important part of our strategy for training the next generation of engineers and technicians and more recently many other business disciplines. The national focus on increasing and broadening Apprenticeships, driven by Government policy, is a very welcome development and has allowed UKAEA to share its high quality training programme with employers large and small via the new Oxfordshire Advanced Skills (OAS) facility at Culham.

We are passionate about quality skills training that matches the demands of the employer, is delivered in a workplace context and sets young people on a fulfilling and rewarding career path. So we are delighted to be associated with awards that showcase the high standard of training and the achievements of talented Apprentices around the county.

We wish to inspire the next generation and enthuse young people about the exciting and rewarding career opportunities available through UK Apprenticeship training. Working with schools, colleges and other Oxfordshire organisations, we endeavour to show young people who are looking for an interesting and rewarding career that Apprenticeships are just as valid as any other route into a variety of sectors and provide a great way to kick start a career.

The UKAEA Apprentice training scheme has been operating successfully since 1947. Maintaining high-quality training delivery is a major factor to the successful operation of our facility. UKAEA recognise that a highly skilled workforce is more effective and innovative and brings added gains beyond these including excellent organisational image and staff retention.

Our organisation, at a senior level, has an in-depth knowledge of Apprenticeships and the rewards for both the employer and the employee. Our new employer led OAS training centre with its focus on quality will help employers build on the specific skills, experience and knowledge they’re looking for and address the lack of ‘work readiness’ currently experienced by organisations.
