The team at oxme.info are running a campaign throughout June to encourage young people to consider a career in construction. The campaign aims to raise awareness of construction as a fast-growing sector for jobs, the huge variety of opportunities that the industry has to offer and the opportunities available locally to help you get started.

The campaign will highlight job roles within the industry that may not be traditionally associated with the sector and remind people that a career in construction is not just for boys!

Support to get started

The Apprenticeship & Training Company – a local Apprenticeship Training Agency (ATA) specialising in construction. They employ you throughout your Apprenticeship and help you find a placement to suit your needs, keeping things simple for you. They also have grants of up to £30 available to help you with travel or equipment costs. See their construction careers page for lots of useful info to help you get started.

Unlocking Potential – if you’re aged 18-19 and haven’t been in education, employment or training for more than six months, this partnership project offers you the opportunity to gain work experience, training and qualifications, including a Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card, to help you begin a career in construction. It’s all free of charge, including travel and lunch – and uniform is provided.
