Title
Why I became an Apprenticeship Ambassador by Rachel Hughes
Rachel Hughes is a Social Media Apprentice with Oxfordshire County Council. Her role involves sharing Apprenticeship and opportunities and careers events with young people in Oxfordshire to keep them informed and inspired!
As we celebrate National Apprenticeship Week 2019 this week (4-8 March), Rachel explains why it's so rewarding to be able to share her experiences with students.
Rachel says: "I became an Apprenticeship Ambassador because I thought it was important for young people to receive first-hand information from an apprentice about how to apply for an apprenticeship, the interview stage and what its really like being an Apprentice.
I recently visited Aureus School to talk to young people about my Apprenticeship, it felt really special to be able to share my experiences with the students. I was able to answer their questions, discuss what they would like to do once they leave school and offer some guidance for those who were interested in an Apprenticeship."
